Gerald R. Ford, The Last Chapter

A friend reminded me that we may, indeed, make fun of the dead even before they are planted. And Attaturk, substituting for Atrios, did it beautifully. He also relates Chris Matthews, henceforth known only as Tweety, as saying on the teevee

"The last time I talked to President Ford he was lying down much like he is now."

I'm just grateful that I'm not fighting the funeral traffic.

Oh, tweety.

Hey, isn't this supposed to have more cooking things?

It is unpredictable here. And I seem to be on a huge "roast everything" jag. Like pork and apples and sweet potatoes. All on the same pan. On my silpat.

I've been busy making somebody not exist.

Heeeeey. So how do you get those label thingys? Is that that new blogger beta or whatever?

By the way did you know that we didn't have any mail delivery yesterday because of Ford? I thought I just didn't get any mail, but then I read today that it was because of a national day of mourning or somesuch thing. The hell? He was president, not freakin' king.

This is, indeed, the new Blogger which is out of beta now. Go make yourself a South Park character at ... well I'll put it in a post later today. And don't you be talking trash on me getting a day off of work. I'll take it.

look out, Jolene, or Sasha might make you 'not exist'.

Fuuuuuck. I just had a long, very humorous comment (trust me, it was great) typed out, then noticed I was somehow logged in by my gmail name (huh?) so I said log in as a different user, and it lost the comment.

Anyway, of course I think Sasha should get a day off. As long as she's not the one delivering my mail. I want my mail, dammit.

New Blogger has you login using a gmail account. But ... and this is a HUGE but ... it lets you choose a "display" name.

Yeah, I don't like that one bit. My gmail account has my real name on it, and that's what it displays as. I wonder if I can change the display without changing my email name. Hmmm. Guess I'll have to look into this. Otherwise I'll just have to pay really close attention to make sure I don't accidentally post comments with my real name.

Check that gmail account, mkay?
